Almost nothing in a normal day asks the eyes to work at range. A screen holds them at one distance inside a narrow band. A commute gives them a fixed view. The movements that matter when something happens fast, following a moving object, holding a target steady while the head moves, jumping accurately across a wide field, noticing what appears at the edge, go largely unused. They are trainable, and they respond quickly, but not to more of the same.

The four drills

Smooth pursuit

Following a target that moves steadily without the eyes jumping ahead of it or falling behind. This is what tracks a ball, a cursor, or a car merging into a lane. When pursuit is imprecise the eyes catch up in small jerks, and a moving object arrives in pieces rather than continuously. How the smooth pursuit drill works.

Gaze stabilization

Holding a target still while the head moves. Every step you take moves your head, and the eyes counter-rotate to keep the picture stable. Saccades

Fast jumps from one point to another that land accurately the first time. Vision is briefly suppressed during the jump, so the accuracy has to be set before it starts. Peripheral vision

Registering what appears at the edge of the visual field without turning to look at it. The field narrows under stress and under long fixed-distance screen work, not because the eye changed but because attention pulled toward the centre. It widens again with practice. What a three minute session looks like

The four drills run back to back in the same order every time: pursuit, stabilization, saccades, peripheral. Each one lasts under a minute, and the difficulty rises as the drill gets easier, so a drill that was at the edge of your control last week is the warm-up this week.

The fixed order is the point. A library of exercises invites picking whatever appeals on the day, which is pleasant and produces a record that cannot be read. The same sequence at a rising difficulty produces a comparison between this week and last week that means something.

Each drill produces a record of how it went, and because the sequence and the conditions stay the same, the change between sessions is readable rather than anecdotal. Most people notice it inside the drill first: the target stops slipping, the jumps land cleaner. Outside the app it tends to show up in specific moments rather than as a general feeling, a serve read a fraction earlier, a page that stops needing a second pass, less strain at the end of a long day.

What it does not do

Brainpro does not correct eyesight, and no app does. It is not vision therapy, not a diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for an eye exam.
